IN THE CELLARS OF THE ROCCA
Guests of the agriturismo can book a tasting of our products and spend as much time as they want in the suggestive rooms of the cellars of the Rocca, illuminated by soft lights and caressed by the cool environment once used for the production of wine.
Evening service, bookable exclusively by guests of the agriturismo with at least 24 hours in advance.
THE RESTORATION OF THE SPACE
TO CONSERVE MEANS TO INNOVATE
The Rocca's cellars were always a very lived-in environment: located on the ground floor of the Rocca's main building, they were built at the same time as the complex was founded in late medieval times.
Until World War II they continued their function, no longer thanks to the Cavatorta family who owned the complex until the nineteenth century, but thanks to the Campelli and sharecropper families who shared the cellar spaces for their own needs related to agricultural activity: the Grossi family and the Davoli family. But this historical period slowly came to an end, and part of the cellars became a material warehouse.
In 2021, the property decided to make this vaulted space usable again by restoring the old floor that is still legible, supplementing the grout with natural lime and local interte, relaizing oak doors and a large table to be used for evening tastings only for guests staying overnight in our agriturismo.
We do not believe that in order to give new life to the buildings you have to turn them upside down, rather you just need to preserve them!
